here are the wings i made for a 21'st dress up party, there are so many beautiful examples on the internet. The techniques however are not very well explained, plenty of examples of the simple type of wings are around but for the good ones people keep there techniques fairy secret. It's a childish thong i guess to make wings but i have always been fascinated with them.

Wing shapes change when stockings go on, the original shape looked OK in wirer but didn't work in the end.

They're pretty nuts Katie. In a good way! I did some research on wing building a while ago, and would love to make some with proper wire! It seems like most of the really awesome ones are made with a wire frame and a celulose or chiffon attached in spectacular ways so you don't get the distortion that comes with stockings.
